Service Description

Optical networks are now the fundamental building block of all high-performance, reliable data networks. Because we employ professional technicians, we offer our services even to those who do not yet have the necessary equipment and know-how.

Service Plans (Flat Rate)
For a monthly flat fee, we offer 24/7 service support for work on your optical network. We can also arrange to hold basic materials for maintenance. Response time and service availability are set individually by contract. Individual operations are then billed according to the standard price list or contractual terms. Holding of special spare parts is also possible.
The price for individual operations is set by agreement and specified in the service contract. It depends on the network scope, services provided, and contract length.
Why Use Optical Cables
We live in an era of increasing demands for higher network data throughput — fast internet access, IPTV, video on demand. A single HD TV programme, even after MPEG-4 compression, has a data rate of 19 Mbps. Optical fibres help solve these challenges:
- Transmission capacity of an optical network can reach tens of Gbps, with data transmission distances of tens of kilometres.
- A two-fibre optical cable for indoor installation is up to half the weight and thickness of metallic UTP.
- Immunity to EMI — an optical cable can be run in parallel with 230 V power wiring without interference.
- No fire risk from overheating or sparks — fibres do not conduct electricity.
Types of Optical Fibres
Multimode (MM)
- Core diameter: 50 and 62.5 µm
- Wavelengths: 850 nm (Gigabit), 1310 nm (100 Mbit)
- Light source: LED (more cost-effective technology)
- Reach: up to approx. 2 km
Singlemode (SM)
- Core diameter: 9 µm
- Wavelengths: 1310 nm and 1550 nm
- Source/detector: semiconductor laser
- Reach: tens of kilometres
Connectors We Work With
Every optical fibre must be terminated with an appropriate connector. Commonly used connectors for both MM and SM fibres:
- SC
- FC
- LC
- ST
- E2000
For diagnosing signal quality and detecting macro/micro bends, we use the MultiFiber Pro Optical Power Meter and other measurement tools.
